Thank you for registering your child with Infant Swimming Resource!
Please review the following information carefully and address all questions to your instructor. THANK YOU!
1. Now that you have registered your child, you will receive an email from ISR regarding your child’s registration. If your child is approved immediately upon registration, you should receive an email from ISR stating that the registration was approved. In this email you will see at least one attachment, which is your child’s registration form. This needs to be printed, signed, and brought with you to the FIRST lesson. If your child’s registration is pending, our registration team may need further medical/developmental information on your child, so please keep an eye on your emails in case they need further clarification in order to approve the registration. Please understand that our Registration Team only wants to make sure we are providing the safest possible lesson for your child.
Once your child has been approved to begin lessons, you will receive an email with the approval and you will need to print the registration form that is attached to that email, in addition to any other attachments (BUDS forms, etc.). Please print all attachments.
In your approval email, you will also receive a “coupon code” to redeem at www.isrsealstore.com for a free cloth swim diaper and ISR t-shirt (New Enrollment Welcome Kit). These items are free, but you will be required to pay about $5 for shipping these items. This shipping fee is nominal since most cloth swim diapers alone cost around $10 and are often hard to find in stores, and these are quality swim diapers. Sizes do tend to run small, so keep this in mind when ordering.
2. The second phase of the ISR National Registration Processing System is the shipment of an ISR Welcome Kit to your home. This Kit will contain your ISR Parent Resource Book (PRB). This book will answer most of your questions and educate you about our method for teaching aquatic self- rescueTM skills, as well as general water safety and safeguarding your home aquatic environment.
3. You will read in the PRB about the importance of your attitude and emotions with regards to lessons, so please keep in mind that your child is constantly observing you and taking his or her emotional cues from you. So maintain a positive, supportive attitude throughout your child’s ISR Lesson experience. If you have a question or a concern regarding lessons, please contact your instructor directly.
4. Remember that you are required to bring a signed copy of your child’s ISR National Registration form to your instructor on the first day of lessons. If you cannot locate the original email from ISR that contained this document as an attachment, you can log back onto the ISR National Registration Website and log in to retrieve and print the form.
5. If your child is 30 months or less, you should have received with your Confirmation of Registration Clearance email from ISR the “How to complete the BUDS” and the “ISR FULL BUDS” forms as attached documents. Please review the “How to” document, as well as the additional information regarding the BUDS contained within your ISR Parent Resource Book.
EVERY child will be required to have a Poolside BUDS filled out daily in the child’s folder in my poolside file box. The completion and submission of the FULL BUDS to the instructor and the completion of the POOLSIDE BUDS is required before EVERY lesson. If the BUDS forms are not complete and available to the instructor, your child will not be able to swim that day. This is a requirement of ISR’s insurance and is non-negotiable. The “How to” document as well as a copy of the ISR FULL BUDS are also available on my website www.isrfortmyers.com under the “Downloadable Forms” section.
It is vitally important that you take the time to read through the “Pool Rules” document on my website www.isrfortmyers.com under the “Downloadable Forms” section. I want everything to go smoothly with every child and I believe in communicating everything clearly to all of my swim parents. PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO CAREFULLY READ THROUGH THE POOL RULES.
Please be sure that any other caregivers who may be bringing your child to lessons are well aware of all policies and procedures contained in the Pool Rules. Please provide them with a copy of it.
Things to bring with you the first day of lessons:
***SUGGESTION: Provided your child has already had a BM before lessons, you can bring your child dressed in their swim diapers and swim suit and put a regular diaper over top of all of that in case the swim diapers leak urine on your ride to the pool. It is okay if the child has a little urine in their swim diapers when they enter the pool. This helps to decrease the anxiety of having to dress them when you arrive.
Diet is an important aspect of your child’s ISR Lesson Experience. Your child should not eat or drink 1 1⁄2 hours prior to lessons. Your child should not eat or drink milk or consume any dairy products within 2 hours of their lesson time slot. In addition, infants and toddlers should avoid apple products throughout the duration of their ISR Lessons. Apple products are high in fiber, which can cause gas and bloating that will make the floating and swimming maneuvers practiced during ISR lessons.
If at any time you need to reach me, you may text or call me at 239-267-7495. I also receive emails on my phone and check those periodically.
Please read the ISR Parent Resource Book in its entirety, in addition to the POOL RULES.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read through this information so that you can be prepared for your child’s first day of lessons. I know it is a lot of information to take in, but there is a reason that ISR has a 100% safety record. We at ISR truly care that each child has a safe lesson every lesson.
As a parent myself (and a former swim parent) I believe in communicating everything clearly to my swim parents so that you have all of your questions answered up front. Your child’s success in lessons is of utmost importance to me, and I thank you for entrusting me with the amazing opportunity to teach them to be competent and confident swimmers and floaters! I look forward to partnering with you in this endeavor!
Sincerely,
Kathy Cole
