READ THIS PAGE IN ITS ENTIRETY BEFORE DOWNLOADING FORMS!!

So, your child is all registered and ready to start lessons...Just a few housekeeping issues to finish up and then we are ready to get started.  You will need to go to the Downloadable Forms link and print 2 copies of the "Pool Rules", a copy of the "Full BUDS" form (if your child is under 31 months of age) as you will be filling this form out on a daily basis for the duration of lessons, and 1 copy of the "BUDS Instruction" sheet.

***IMPORTANT***If you have other caregivers who will be bringing your child to lessons, it is important that they each read through the Pool Rules form as well so they know where to park and what to bring, etc.

Be sure to read the Pool Rules form carefully as it details all of the things you need to bring with you to lessons and other important information in order to make your child's swimming lessons a success.  It is very important that this form be read in its entirety.  Please initial each section and sign it at the bottom and bring the signed copy with you to your first lesson.

Read through the BUDS Instruction Sheet and start filling out the Full BUDS form the day prior to your first lesson.  It is imperative that you fill out the Full BUDS form every day and bring it with you to lessons each day to present to me prior to the start of lessons.  The Full BUDS contains important information to me so that I can provide a SAFE lesson for your child.  Children 31 months of age and over do not need the Full BUDS...only the Poolside BUDS in my notebook at the pool.

EVERYONE is to fill out the Poolside BUDS in the BLUE binder on my table for each child every day.  Please be sure to share this information with the other caregivers who may be bringing your child to the pool.

Last but not least, please PRINT and SIGN your child's completed Registration form and bring it with you to the first lesson.  This is very important and I must have it in order to swim your child the first day!!  You can print this now by logging back into your child's account via the registration link you were sent by me previously and the login and password that you created when you registered.

Also, in the email you receive from ISR stating that your child is approved to start lessons, you will receive a coupon code to use to purchase a FREE ISR swim diaper and ISR T-shirt.  This code is redeemable at www.isrsealstore.com.  You will need to go to this website and select one white ISR swim diaper and one T-shirt for each child you have registered.  Please be aware that the sizes run small!  (Many 1-year-olds do fit in 3T ISR swim diapers and T-shirts.)  You will only pay about $5 for shipping for these items, which is much less than running around trying to find and pay for one cloth swim diaper, which usually run about $8-10 in stores, and are often not sold in stores between Sept-Mar.

A few days after you have completed registration and received a message from ISR saying your child has been approved to start lessons you will receive a folder in the mail containing a Parent Resource Guide.  The folder was designed for you to bring your BUDS form and other paperwork to the pool each day.  Please take the time to read through the Parent Resource Guide as it contains great and very important information.  It is actually a really easy and informative read and has important information in it regarding your child's lessons.  I cannot emphasize enough that YOU NEED TO READ THE PARENT RESOURCE GUIDE!!!  It will also answer your question, "WHY NO APPLE PRODUCTS DURING LESSONS?"

If at any time there is bad weather or lightning in the area of my pool and your child has lessons scheduled, please check the Weather Conditions link for updates from me regarding lesson cancellation, etc.  Sometimes bad weather creeps up while I am in the pool doing lessons and it gets a bit tricky for me.  I will  make every effort to contact you via your cell phone if bad weather pops up in my area and I have to cancel lessons.

You can also check www.nbc-2.com for the street level doppler radar in my area to see if there is lightning or bad weather near my home if you are questioning whether or not we will be able to have a lesson.  If you call me and I do not answer my phone, I am most likely still in the pool doing lessons.

So, for your first day you need to bring the following:

  1. Two swim diapers (if your child is not 100% potty-trained) and a bathing suit, if desired, to be worn over top of diapers.  I prefer at least one of the swim diapers to be a cloth swim diaper since the disposable swim diapers do not hold fecal matter as well as the cloth swim diapers.  (I have a few cloth swim diapers available to borrow for those students just getting started who have not had a chance to purchase/receive these yet.)  A fecal leak in my pool means I have to shock the pool and shut down for the rest of the day, and possibly the next, so be sure to use at least one cloth swim diaper, if not two, instead of the disposables!!!
  2. Three pool towels.
  3. Signed registration form.
  4. Signed Pool Rules form.
  5. Full BUDS form filled out for the day prior to lessons and morning of lessons.

Please take the time to also review the ISR Parent Resource Video prior to starting lessons.

Thank you for taking the time to read all of this thoroughly.  I know it is a lot of information, but I believe in communicating everything to parents so that they know what to expect every step of the way.  I look forward to meeting you and teaching your little one to be an amazing aquatic problem solver!
