Hi.  My name is Kathy Cole and I am proud to be able to serve Fort Myers and the surrounding areas as an Infant Swimming Resource Master Instructor Candidate!

I have been married to my husband, Steve, for 17 years and we have two amazing children, ages 16 and 11.

I first learned about Infant Swimming Resource in 2002 while we were living in Central Florida and my daughter was just turning 2 years old.  My son, the oldest, had taken the typical swim classes several years in a row when he was little and was still fearful of the water in his face.  I did not want my daughter to develop this same fear of water and I wanted to take a different route in making her a great swimmer.  I saw my friend's 2 year old swim-float-swimming at our local community pool and I was amazed!  She told me about ISR and I immediately enrolled my daughter in ISR lessons.

My daughter has been an amazing swimmer ever since and absolutely loves the water!!!  At 2 years of age, following her ISR lessons, she swam better than her older brother who was 7 at the time!!  (Fortunately, her older brother subsequently learned his skills from watching his little sister in the pool!!!)

Ever since my daughter's first day of lessons I have been recommending ISR to everyone.  Infant Swimming Resource is the safest, most comprehensive and effective self-rescueTM swimming program of its kind in the United States.

Upon relocating to Fort Myers in 2006 and finding out there were no ISR Instructors nearby, I decided that I wanted to become an instructor and bring this amazing drowning prevention program to the city of Fort Myers and the surrounding areas.  With all of the canals, backyard pools, and beaches in Southwest Florida an effective self-rescueTM swimming program is absolutely necessary in order to keep our children safe and prevent unnecessary tragedies.

I have been teaching as a Certified ISR Instructor since June of 2007 and have taught over 400 local children the ISR method since then.  In the Fall of 2010, I was selected by ISR to become a Master Instructor Candidate.  This means that I am now able to train and mentor other new ISR instructors.  I trained a new instructor for Curitiba, Brazil in Mar/April 2011 as well as an instructor for the Raleigh, NC area in Mar/April 2011.  I am honored to be part of such an awesome organization!!

Infant Swimming Resource is an extremely effective drowning prevention program and I am proud to be part of a team of individuals whose mission it is to keep babies and children safe in and around the water by teaching them to be aquatic problem-solvers.  Our children are so precious to us and it is our job as parents to be diligent in keeping them safe.  I look forward to working with each of your little ones and teaching them a love for the water as well as very necessary swimming and survival skills!
